Honey-do

Hello.
Put in a whole house humidifier. Not nearly as daunting as wiring up a new ceiling fan, but still a challenge. So I'm supposed to sit there and watch the thing until it starts to drain. I'm too tired for that. So I just turned it off, and unplugged it. I still have to find a drainage solution. Currently I have the drain tube in a bucket. Elegant, eh? It was pretty cool to see the electrical work on the first go. I used a fused outlet. I have to find a smaller fuse for it. The humidifier only pulls .7 amps, so I want a small 1-2amp fuse. This way no one will accidentally use it for a space heater or something. It's hooked up through the furnace, so the humidifier will only have power while the furnace has the heat cycle going. I watched it go through the cycle, and it is pretty cool how it waits until the flames are lit and the blower has been going for a few seconds.

Turns out I have another thing to do. I just remembered as I am writing this post. I still have to install the humidistat. We have wires running to near the thermostat. When we bought the house, it used to have a humidistat, but no humidifier. So two summers ago, whilst painting our living room and hallway, we decided to rip it off the wall and cover over it. I guess that I'll find out if I did a good enough patch job.

Alright, enough rambling. G'night.

Veteran's Day

Take time today to thank all veterans. Active duty, reserve, and even national guard. Thank the people who lace up their boots and get them sandy so you can go out to eat at your favorite restaurant and not worry about being blown up. Thank the people who leave their families behind to step up and protect their country with their skills and their lives. Thank the people who have already given their lives in protection our our ideals of freedom and democracy. And finally, thank the family members of veterans. They didn't enlist in armed forces, but they volunteer to stay with their service member. Through lonely nights, long deployments, early wake ups, births without their husbands, dealing with kids that scream for their parent that is overseas, family members do it all with a strong heart and love for their service member. So in end, I want to thank my family and my wife, Laura, for supporting me.
